A lone woman walked down the street heading towards the group. She was wrapped in a light coat and jeans. The feral known as Vulpine had been getting the help she was needing and felt it was time to rejoin her family. She wasn't sure how they would react to seeing her again and her changes but she swallowed her fear and made her way up to them.
"Hi mom"

Kari looked at Logan and then turned to see that James Hook had, indeed, pulled a gift from the red velvet sack. "You never gave that back, Jack? I'm surprised Nick's pal Angus hasn't come to visit you to get it back."
"Angus Buchanan? He's too busy with his Underworlder music tour to bother getting anything back for Nick," Jack chuckled as he looked at James and winked. "Yes, I borrowed this sack when Nick was napping. He has several. He showed them to me. So I am not mucking up Christmas for anyone. I'm just helping to make it more merry."
"Sure, you're being a good little Santa's Helper there, Jackie boy," Logan said as he rolled his eyes. "You winding up to load your basement with gold? Maybe jewels? Or a new boat?"
"The bag won't let me," Jack huffed as he looked at James' present. "Oh, I tried. And tried. It let Mrs. Brown get a present. I'm sure it would let anyone else get one. I just can't take anything for myself. Here, Alexia, have a try," the pirate said as he extended the sack to Lady Thor.
"That's better," Kari said as she grabbed Logan's flask and took a sip. When she handed it back she saw Ceri making her way to join them. Kari ran over and gave her a hug. "I'm glad you made it. I was hoping you might," she added as an even bigger smile crossed her lips.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else mom......"She said hugging Kari and not wanting to let go.
"If I missed the holidays I couldn't forgive myself. Jean has really helped me and I am just about back to my normal self. The good Dr gave me some mood stabilizers to help where Jeans deprogramming still needs to be completed. I may look different but I am still your daughter."She smiled.

"Ceri, you will always be my daughter, no matter what," Kari said as she gave her another hug. "No one ever goes through life and remains the same. And we can't all dictate how the changes come. That doesn't mean those who are responsible will get away with it. That is a promise."
"Damned straight," Logan added as he walked over and put his hand on Ceri's shoulder. "I'm glad Jeannie and the doc are helping. I bet I know a couple of other things that might help, too."
"Are you ready to move out of Bradley's little underground apartment complex?" Kari asked Ceri as she watched Logan walk away for a minute. He seemed to, in his usual way, have something going on in the background. "Did Shannon make it back to see you yet?"
Kari knew Shannon had been in the field on some SHIELD-related work. Phil Coulson was running a small group of mutant and mystic agents now, and he had asked Shannon to come to a training session that, unfortunately, turned into a mission. She had been away for what seemed like eternity.
"I hope I can fix that," Logan said as he walked back to the group, turned and pointed up the block. "I had your cousin Daniel lobby to get her back here for Christmas."
Kari gasped as she saw Shannon running down the block, and then she looked at Ceri. "Everything will be OK. Just take it slowly."

Ceri was in complete shock but realized she had just enough time and without warning she turned and hugged Logan with all her strength. If it had been anyone else it might have resulted in a cracked rib but Logan was tough. "I know you are not a hugger Logan but thank you.....Thank you with all my heart and soul."
She then ran towards Shannon almost as fast as she was. At this moment the only thing that mattered was being in her girlfriends arms once again.

Captain Hook watched as a woman he wasn't familiar with addressed someone as her mother. ''Mum,'' he muttered. If there was one absolute weakness he had, it was the mention of mothers. Captain Hook cherished his own mother during and after his boyhood. He remembered the portrait of her in his cabin. How he always cared for it. Just like if it was his own mother.
Captain Hook's eyes widened after Jack revealed he took the bag as Santa rested. He glanced at the present he held. He considered waiting before he opened it. Captain Hook saw the embrace and frowned.
The embrace reminded him of the past. Days when a young James Hook held his mother. Captain Hook always remembered his mother's smile. He suddenly smiled. Tears formed in his eyes and ran down his face. He turned his head.

Ororo Munroe knew all too well that New York winter weather did not always include snow at Christmas, and after some lobbying from Jubilee, she decided to fix that, at least for a few hours on this December day. A light flurry kicked up in the area around Rockefeller Center, and soon the scene looked like something from a greeting card as the angels that lined the path to the great tree were lightly covered in snow.
"That's better," she said as she landed on the ground near Tony Stark, preparing as her feet touched the ground for some lecture about mutants mucking about with the weather, but instead she got a thumbs up from the Iron Avenger.
"Will wonders never cease?" she asked as she walked up next to Kari and Logan. "And miracles as well," she said as she watched Ceri running to Shannon.

Shannon had wanted to punch Phil Coulson in the face for what had happened over the last few months. She wasn't sure exactly why he had asked her to come along on his little mission to convince Maria Hill that mutants and mystics were not all bad guys. They had not exactly been buddy-buddy when she was at SHIELD. He was pleasant enough, but he always seemed a bit off as far as she was concerned.
Getting roped into some stupid mission in the Middle East had not been on her agenda, but Daniel had a bunch of greener-than-green recruits to handle, so she stayed. She found out later Daniel had been trying to find Ceri and wanted Shannon with him on the mission, but his intel sucked, as was usually the case when Weapon X was involved. While Daniel's heart might have been in the right place, the way things went down with him and Coulson just made the situation a nightmare.
Then Daniel got the call that Ceri had been found and that Shannon was needed back with the X-Men. He had a very long discussion with Coulson, and finally he got Shannon the hell out of Dodge and on a plane for the States.
And that was how she ended up on Fifth Avenue in the middle of a snowstorm running toward Ceri.
When they reached each other she flung her arms around Ceri and locked her in a passionate kiss. "Thank God you're home safe!" she said as they broke the kiss. "I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner. I'll explain everything. I promise."

After everything James had been through of late, Jack knew this holiday business might make him a bit sad. It didn't always make Jack particularly happy, come to think of it. "James, let's go see if we can find this restaurant and get a nice hot buttered rum or a hot toddy," Jack said as he placed the sack back over his shoulder, trying to distract James from the hugging and kissing crush of X-Men. "I am not so sure that Mr. Stark will like having pirates around anyway. He's barely civil at times to the mystics, and I'm sure he's afraid I'll pick his pocket. I do have a bit of a reputation. Then again, there are others he likes even less than he likes me."
Jack thought back to the tales of Stalik going toe-to-toe with Iron Man during that dreadful Civil War incident. The pirate was glad he had missed seeing that in person.
"Perhaps we should head out to sea soon? I can only take so much of being land-locked," Jack said as he looked at James and tried to see where the restaurant was located. "What would you think of that?"

Captain Hook's mouth was a huge sad squiggle. He turned to Jack. A few more tears ran down his face. ''My apologies, everyone. I never liked Christmas.'' He sobbed for a few moments.
''My betrothed refused to marry me. I battled my brother after he refused to part with quite a bit of gold.'' Captain Hook paused. ''There is another reason why I'm revealing tears.'' Captain Hook glanced from relative to relative. His shoulders slumped.
''The embrace reminded me of when I was a boy. I was always with my beloved mother. Jasper wasn't as close to her as I was. I don't have ill will for you. Mummy's portrait was always in my cabin until Smee ruined it.'' He frowned. He faced Jack again.
Captain Hook smiled. ''Good idea, Jack. I'm still hungry.'' Captain Hook's frown returned. ''Mr. Stark probably won't be fond of me.'' He recalled everything he did as a pirate. Writing tales that came to life, capturing Peter Pan and his companions, trying to annex Neverland in the name of England's queen, etc.
''Another good idea, Jack. I'll be more than happy to be at sea again. Will I come across your crew? They probably won't be as irritating as my men. They won't be dumb like Smee or cook nasty things like Cookson. At least hopefully they won't be.''
Captain Hook smiled again. ''Let's find the restaurant. I'll be more than happy to eat food that is not prepared by Cookson. He was such a lousy cook! Although Smee's cooking was a bit worse.'' He shuddered.
''At least I'm not with enemies now. I'm not disguising myself as a woman to end their lives again. I'm not having Peter Pan stealing my mother's portrait again. I'm not near my older brother.''

"I am sure everyone understands, James," Jack said to his friend as he looked back to see that Tony Stark was, indeed, staring at him strangely. "What? Not everyone likes the holidays."
"No, not why I was staring, Sparrow," Iron Man said as he pointed at a man dressed in a bright red blazer and bowler hat coming toward them. "I think the owner of the bag is coming to get it back," Tony added with a chuckle. "And he does not look too happy."
"Bullocks," Jack muttered as he motioned for James to follow him. "I do not want some scene going off in the middle of this crowd. Let's hurry to get that food."
Jack moved quickly as he tried to let the crowd provide some bit of cover as he and James Hook made their way to the restaurants that were closer to the skating rink. "Ah ha! The Sea Grill! Sound interesting, James?"

Captain Hook gasped as soon as he saw a familiar man. His eyes became wide. ''Saint Nick?!'' A scowl replaced Captain Hook's shocked expression. He removed a sword from the case on his belt. He held his hook above his head.
''I'll protect everyone,'' Captain Hook muttered. He turned and saw that Jack gestured for him to follow. His scowl remained as he placed his sword where it belonged. Captain Hook followed Jack. His cape moved behind him with every step. ''The Sea Grill sounds good to me.''

Ceri didn't say anything at first but she then gently picked up Shannon holding her in a hug effortlessly. Shannon's feet hung just off the ground as Ceri held her in the embrace. "It doesn't matter love......All that matters is you are back in my arms."She said with tears in her eyes as a cat like purr could almost be heard coming from Ceri.
"I never want to let you go."

"And I don't plan on being anywhere except at your side," Shannon said to Ceri as she stayed in her arms a few minutes longer. "I'm sick of craziness. I just want some peace this holiday season."
Shannon blushed a bit as she hugged Ceri back. This was New York, so two women in love was no big deal, but it still felt so new that it made Shannon feel giddy at times. "Are you planning to stay East Coast now that they are getting the school up and running again? I'll go wherever you go. You are home, not some specific address."

Craig wrapped his long jacket around himself until it was somewhat tight. Just like how he wrapped his emotions for Isabella. He wished to forget about battling his ex-wife earlier. Part of him wished to heal her. The other part dreaded what she became. A vengeful being. All because Selene manipulated Isabella into believing he killed her.
*I did kill my wife, but it was by accident.* Craig looked back. *At least Isabella was released from her cell. Perhaps I can heal her past wounds.*
Craig glanced ahead. He smiled after he saw his companions. He walked to them.
