Logan growled softly under his breath as he and Kari ascended in the elevator at Avengers Tower. "We should be at home," he said gruffly as he watched the display tick off floor after floor.
"And we will be after we check in here," Kari said quietly as she checked the bags of gifts she was carrying. "This is for Adaryn, Marrac, Jackson and Niamh. I could care less what everyone else thinks. And I like coming into the city during the holidays anyway. There are worse things we could be doing."
"Like picking Quire up from the police station?" Logan said as he shook his head. "Or Wade for that matter."
"We'll be in and out as fast as we can. Adaryn promised to bring the kids up for the celebration at the mansion and for Ewan and Jessie's wedding. It will all work out. And we can go to Guernica later if you want."

A portal opened in the middle of the city before a six-armed woman stepped out of it. She turned to the portal and gestured with all arms. She viewed it closing. Spiral glanced at everything in the city. There weren't any humans present at all. If there were humans, she was certain they would have fled from the sight of her many arms.
Spiral's holiday gift to herself was any place far from Mojo and his rants about ratings. Part of her wished to be near another. She glanced at swords in cases on her belt. Spiral smiled. A holiday battle? Perhaps another gift.

''Erinyes?'' Worry filled Major Domo's eyes as he glanced back. He thought she was with him. Major Domo certainly didn't wish to be alone. Not with Spiral or any of Mojo's slave hunters searching for him with Erinyes. He looked ahead.
Major Domo gasped the minute he saw Spiral. He stepped back. *If Spiral views me, she'll return me to Mojo! Then again, perhaps she won't return me just to anger him. Mojo never liked Spiral a whole lot. Perhaps Spiral will tear me apart for fun.*
Major Domo looked back another time. He trembled. ''Erinyes?''

Kari looked at Logan, and he knew exactly what the look meant. "OK, what did you feel, and where do we need to go?" he asked her as the elevator kept moving upward.
"Back down, but we don't have time for the bloody elevator to get us there," Kari growled as she looked at the bags of gifts and shook her head. {{Ryn, we have a problem outside. Gifts are on the lift}} Kari said telepathically to her sibling as she opened her mind and saw Spiral standing in the middle of a very populated area with her swords at the ready. Sadly, Major Domo seemed to be near her, and Erinyes seemed to be nowhere in sight.
"Time to get to work," Kari said as she opened a portal that opened near Spiral's current location. "Merry Christmas, Logan darling. Let's make sure Spiral doesn't make a move on the tourists," she added as waved her hand and her own sword appeared at her side. "Spiral, Santa won't bring you any gifts if you start behaving badly!"

Spiral remained unaware of Major Domo. Her eyes widened after Kari appeared with a sword. She smiled. She removed four swords from cases. ''A battle. A holiday gift.''

Wolverine growled as a bunch of crazy tourists started to snap away with their cellphone cameras as his wife and Spiral started to get ready to dance. "Can't you all go see Hamilton or something?" he barked as he moved closer to Kari. "SNIKT!" went his claws as more flashes started to pop around them. "I swear..."
There was a BAMF nearby as Nightcrawler appeared close to his friend. "Got Im Himmel! Spiral! What are you doing here?"
"Elf, I'm glad to see you!" Logan said as he looked over toward Spiral again. "If you're looking for that boss of yours, we can reunite you two real fast, lady. Just drop the blades, and you can be in the cell right next to him!"
"Nightcrawler, we may need some help getting the gawkers out of here," Karenza said before turning back to Spiral. "Trust me, this is no gift. We just want to get you out of here before you make the news."

Erinyes froze in her tracks as she tried to catch up with Major Domo but saw Spiral instead. She kept muttering the word "no" under her breath as she started walking again and kept it up until she reached her friend. "I'm sorry we got separated," she whispered as she tried to quickly get him out of the area. "I do not want her seeing us. Can she sense you? I mean, does she have a means to track you?"

Spiral's eyes widened for a moment after she saw Wolverine. Her smile came back. ''Ah. Wolverine. One of Mojo's best toys,'' Spiral said. She remembered all the times Mojo enslaved Wolverine with the other X-Men.
The sight of Nightcrawler appearing caused Spiral's eyes to widen again. A new smile formed. ''Another familiar enemy,'' she said to Nightcrawler.
Spiral heard what Wolverine said about her employer. She began to frown. *I'm here to be as far away from Mojo as possible. If my enemies discover that fact, they WILL place me in a cell with Mojo. Maybe WITH Mojo!* Her frown remained.
All of Spiral's arms and body tensed.

Wendy smiled after she flew to Erinyes and Major Domo. ''I found you!'' she said to them. Her eyes widened after she saw Spiral's multiple arms. Curiosity caused Wendy to tilt her head to one side. Her smile returned. ''Maybe that six-armed woman can play Tag!'' she said.

Major Domo smiled after he viewed others by Spiral. He recognized Wolverine and Nightcrawler from their past battles with Mojo. He heard a familiar voice before his eyes widened. Major Domo turned to Erinyes and smiled again. ''There you are, my friend,'' he muttered before he heard what she wished to know. He frowned.
''Spiral isn't able to track me. I recognize a couple X-men battling her. Hopefully they'll defeat her.''
Major Domo saw Wendy. His eyes became wide again after she mentioned Spiral having enough arms to play Tag. He scowled. ''Wendy, Spiral isn't our friend!'' he said.

"Hawkeye, Ant Man, let's make sure the area stays clear!" his voice rang out before Captain America stepped into the battle area near Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Karenza. "I thought you two were supposed to be visiting us today? Not doing battle with Spiral," he said as he looked toward Wolverine and his wife.
"So, you guys did update the database?" Logan smirked as he looked at Steve Rogers. "Glad they took my suggestion to heart."
"Spiral, I take it you don't want to be in that cell next to your boss?" Karenza yelled as more tourists started to flee the area. "Wait. Are you running the show in his absence? Are you on some hunting mission again?"
"Hunting people won't fly, Spiral," Cap said as he readied his shield. "Either you leave the area, or we'll make you a guest in a holding cell at Avengers Tower."

"If I wasn't afraid she'd spot us, I'd aim a few magic blasts at her," Erinyes said to Major Domo and Wendy as she started to walk the pair away from the center of the fighting. "We can find better places to play tag, Wendy. We haven't been to Central Park yet. We could go to the zoo there if you want. I heard one of the students saying that the penguin house there is a fun place to visit."
Erinyes' had a worried expression on her face as she looked over her shoulder to see if the group had engaged Spiral yet. "I'd portal us out of here, but that might tip her off. Would a taxi be a good idea, Major Domo?"

Confused, Wendy tilted her head to one side after Major Domo revealed Spiral wasn't their friend. She looked ahead before Captain America appeared. She turned to Erinyes after the latter mentioned possibly going to Central Park. Her eyes widened for a moment. Wendy smiled. ''The zoo? Sounds like fun.''
Wendy viewed Major Domo nodding at Erinyes about the taxi.

Spiral smiled after Captain America appeared. ''Another enemy!'' she said. She turned to Karenza. ''I'm not working with Mojo this instant.'' Spiral began to frown again the minute Captain America mentioned a holding cell. *Knowing the X-Men and their friends, they'll most likely place me in a cell that will prevent me from dancing and teleporting out of it.*

"In other words, you are operating under your own agency. Great," Kari grumbled as she looked at Spiral. "With this much magic in play, why am I surprised that you'd be here on a shopping expedition of your own?"
Karenza knew that the introduction of magic to the general populace was only going to bring trouble, and trouble right now was in the form of the six-armed teleporter in front of her. A portal to the Mystic Council holding cells was a bit too far off for her liking, but maybe they could herd Spiral in that direction if they played this right.
"So, are you doing 'Big Brother: Magic Edition' this season, or is it 'Survivor: Sorcerors Be Damned' that's got your blood pumping, Spiral?" Karenza asked as she glared at Mojo's henchwoman.
