We bide our time as evil-doers do (Wedding tie-in)

[Selene]

Selene had finally decided to make her move on the X-Men when they were in the most public of settings: the wedding of Miranda Rydenborne and Sean Mcgowan. Collateral damage would likely mean dead bodies piled up like cord wood, and Selene could use all the souls she could feast upon.

Isabella Dragotti also needed an opportunity to remove her former husband from the playing field, and their newest arrival, Jasper Hook, was also seeking out a relative who had made his life a nightmare, or so Selene believed anyway.

This raiding party was small but very well dressed. A random glamour to alter their facial appearances and hair would make this little excursion a lot easier to pull off. Emil Desmarais was well-versed in this part of the Craft, and the glamour made the lot unrecognizable to anyone but themselves. Not even family members would recognize them.

"Now, are we clear on what is to happen tonight?" Selene asked as she flipped her hair about her shoulders. "We go in and take out those that have wronged you all, and then we make the X-Men pay. I am sure they will come as soon as one of their mewling little charges utters a whimper," she said as she looked toward Isabella and Jasper.

[Isabella Dragotti]

''I'm looking forward to removing my spouse from this world,'' Isabella muttered. She focused on her palm before fire materialized. A cruel smile formed. The fire disappeared. Isabella focused on Selene after the latter addressed her. She nodded.

''I understand the plan, Mistress Selene.'' Isabella faced Jasper Hook. A scowl began to replace her smile. ''Remember, Captain Jasper Hook. You are not to end my ex-spouse's life. I have nasty plans for Craig Dragotti. You can focus on your little brother.''




 

[Captain Jasper Hook]

''I'm eternally grateful for being revived, Mistress Selene,'' Captain Jasper Hook said. He smiled. He bowed near Selene. ''I am looking forward to capturing my younger brother, Midshipman James Hook. He won't defeat me another time.'' Jasper turned to Isabella. He began to bow by her.

''I am confused. You said you wished to remove your spouse from this world, Miss Isabella Dragotti. How are you going to end his life if you capture him? Oh! I understand now. You will probably get rid of Mr. Dragotti after you torment him.''

Jasper still smiled. ''I'm going to focus on my little brother anyway, Miss Isabella Dragotti.'' He seemed thoughtful. ''It's interesting how you mention a spouse.''

Jasper paused for a few moments. ''I remember capturing a ship during my pirate days. Jamie Hook's betrothed was present before I captured her. I remember Cecilia telling Jamie off for his lies about being a pirate and refusing to marry him. I still remember Jamie's betrothed's tears. What I don't recall is Cecilia's exact fate. I thought I forced her to walk the plank. Maybe I just imprisoned her for a long time. I don't recall now.''

Jasper's thoughtful expression returned. ''My baby brother is going to suffer for a long time. He will sob for our mother.'' Jasper smiled another time.

''Perhaps we can torment the ones we loved at the same time, Miss Isabella Dragotti.'' 




 

[Selene]

Selene listened to her companions and smiled. They would get what they so richly deserved, and she would get the opportunity to exact her own revenge on the X-Men. They had imprisoned her one too many times, and they would pay. Her only wish was that Emma Frost would be there, but because this was a mystic affair, she somehow doubted she would see that vile creature this night. 

"I am wondering if the objects of your disdain might not be together?" Selene mused as Emil finished weaving his spell. "The information provided to us said that Jack Sparrow has been playing host to your soon to be deceased husband, Isabella. And where else would a pirate go than to another pirate, Jasper? I think you will be able to see your fondest wishes come true together. Now, if we are all ready, let us see Emil's handiwork."

While they looked the same to each other, a mirror brought along for the event showed a different tale. Selene now looked more like the actress Charlize Theron than herself.   "Oh, this is rich. Emil, you made me look like that demented cow. That was brilliant! That witch can take the blame. I love it!"

OOC: If he returns, Stalik had thought of doing a character using Theron's pics from The Huntsman movies. She will be a sorceress of some merit, so this is a bit of an in-joke.

[Isabella Dragotti]

Worry filled Isabella's eyes. ''I never thought of the possibility of my ex-spouse and Jasper's baby brother not being together.'' Isabella relaxed as her smile came back. She shrugged. ''Oh well. As long as I locate Craig Dragotti. Everything should be fine.''

Isabella was thoughtful after Selene's words about her ex-spouse's companion. ''That makes sense. I don't know why Jack Sparrow would wish to be with my ex-spouse at all. Perhaps they are both cruel men. I won't be shocked if Craig eventually burns Jack Sparrow's house down by mistake. A pirate with another pirate makes sense.''

One of Isabella's eyebrows went up at the sight of Selene's brand new appearance. She smiled. ''You look nice, Selene,'' she said in a sincere tone.

[Captain Jasper Hook]

Jasper frowned. ''Jamie Hook and Miss Isabella Dragotti's spouse not being together at the same time? I never thought about that at all.'' Jasper turned to Selene. ''A pirate with another pirate makes sense.'' His eyes widened as he blushed at the sight of Selene's brand new appearance.

Jasper looked to one side for a moment. ''You do look nice.'' He began to look ahead prior to a smile. He saw Isabella.

''I just thought of a way to torment my baby brother. Just one word. A particular word. Mummy!'' 

Jasper was never as close to Mrs. Hook as James was when they were boys. Although Mrs. Hook tried to turn him into a gentleman, her words went in one ear and out the other. Jasper still smiled. ''Jamie Hook was very close to our mother. He was always with her when we were boys. My little brother will cry at the drop of a hat if our mother is mentioned.'' 

[Emil Desmarais]

Emil, for some odd reason, had made himself look like a member of the wait staff and not like some powerful guest attending the wedding. "I know I seem more mad than usual, but one of us should try to blend in with the staff, and I think I am the best choice. I do not have a vendetta to exact this night beyond that of Mistress Selene's wishes, so I can move about more easily than you might," he said to Isabella and Jasper. "After you, my queen," he said as he bowed to Selene, "and I am glad my glamour has pleased you," he added as the group made their way to the entrance to the wedding reception.
